What is a Parish Council? What does a Parish Council do?

Parish Councils are the first tier of Government in England. They represent small, localised areas around the country and enable local communities to have a say in the services they would like to see provided in their area.

The areas that Parish Councils represent are known as civil parishes. They are completely seperate from the Church.
